This must be some strange new usage of the word "facts" that I hadn't previously been aware of. According to dictionary.com:
fact n. - Knowledge or information based on real occurrences.
- The game is called GTA4
I have yet to see any authoritative source state that this is the case. This is pure speculation. It's even a bad idea to use it as a working title, since that was the working title for Vice City.
- It will be feautured on the Playstation 3, but not as a launch title.
The last alleged "authoritative quote" I read in this thread was from Take-Two Interactive CEO Paul Eibeler, who said that the issue is still undecided. Most likely it will come out on PS3, but it's still not a "fact".
- Release date (as of GTA4.net) is: October 2006
gta4.net has nothing to do with Take-Two or Rockstar games, and is the fantasy of another individual. See http://www.enom.com/domains/whois.asp?DomainName=gta4.net for details. The site offers no authoritative source for said release date.
- Grand Theft Auto 4 is due for 'next generation systems', presumably the Playstation 3.
You can't put "presumably...." into a section entitled "facts".
- Two domains have been purchased allready, at least it seems. These domains are registered by Sam Houser:
This is reasonable. The two domains are registered to Sam Houser, but if you look at the registration and expiration dates, it seems highly unlikely that these domains were registered for the intent of the next GTA game (whatever it might be called). For those who can't be bothered to check:
gta4.com (04-Jan-1999 - 04-Jan-2006)
grandtheftauto4.com (04-Jan-1999 - 04-Jan-2006)
Either way, it still isn't a "fact" about the next game.
- During "Game Informers" article in which they had an interview with Sam Houser and Terry Donovan, it seemed there might/might not be a chance of getting multiplayer in the next game, as quoted here from the article:
So there "might or might not" be multiplayer. I suppose it's a fact by definition, in the same way that Bush "might or might not" be president after the next election. But it feels a little redundant.
The only correct fact from your list is:
The domains gta4.com and grandtheftauto4.com are registered to Sam Houser.
The rest should be in the "Rumours/Speculation" section. Can the maintainer of the first post of this thread please update this accordingly to avoid confusing people.
