Habt Ihr euch mal das bishop.rampage.avi angeschaut? Ist ein knapp 55 MB Video, wo jemand (Bishop? - ein Betatester?) durch eine Stadt läuft und Waffen testet... Naja. Ist soweit das einzige Video wo man wirklich (zugegebenermaßen leicht krankes) Gameplay zu sehen bekommt - keine schnellen Schnitte, sondern minutenlange Action.

Reinschauen lohnt auf jeden Fall!

Also auf mich macht das Video einen sehr guten Eindruck. Jap. Mir hat das Video auch gefallen, man bekommt halt wirklich mal einen Eindruck von der Stadtgröße, der Bevölkerungsdichte und dem Schießprügel-Arsenal

Bei der Bootsfahrt mußte ich auch sofort an GTA denken.

Ende nächster Woche wissen wir Bescheid, Okaysoft müßte meins am Freitag liefern

So, die ersten Jungs aus dem boiling-point.net bzw. xenus-hq Forum haben das Spiel und zocken schon fleißig.

Der Typ der das Video gepostet hat, Bishop, vergibt 5-6 von 10 Punkten für die finale Version, wobei er einräumt, dass 7 Punkte drin wären, wenn die ganzen Bugs per Patch nachgebessert würden...
Ferner schreibt er, dass er nur eine Kaufempfehlung für Leute mit Rollenspiel-Affinität vergeben kann - reine Shooter-Zocker kommen dann eher nicht auf Ihre Kosten. Hauptkritikpunkte sind wohl vor Allem die KI und das Fahrzeughandling.

Der Admin, Shadowmoses, schlägt insgesamt etwas versöhnlichere Töne an...

Ich quote mal ein paar Meinungen und Eindrücke:

Overall, i'm having a blast with it at the moment, it's great just wondering
around talking to people and stuff, i've just started to get some missions and
the game starts to come alive.

I've accepted the bugs and bits that aren't so good and am really enjoying it..
it does need a patch or two though. It's ashame it's been released this early.

Oh i had this brilliant moment - i was driving along the road and i heard
gunfire to my left, i quickly pulled of the road, turning of the car to save
fuel and hearded into the jungle towards the gunfire. I kept quiet and tried to
get to a position to observe what was happening - it seemed to be a scuffle
between government and guerilla. As i wasn't too keen on helping either of these
factions i just kept my distance untill the fight had ended, then went and
looted all the dead bodies and got myself a nice IMBEL! wink

Unfortunately i died shortly after.... when you die you wake up in hospital with
some coppers and equipment missing but i wanted to reload and go back and get my
IMBEL again..... however this time the fight wasn't happening, so i just went on
my way!

Also, watch out for jaguars! one pounced and scarred the shit out of me! smile

lo all, i to am one of the blessed!!

i gotta say that i was a little dissapointed with the game, but only because of
my crappy computer (P4 2.6, ATI9200 128MB, 512RAM), but its alright on low
detail. The driving does take some getting used to, but its OK. AI needs
patching, peeps walking into each other. the skills sys is good, just some
meters in a menu. not many cars unless your in one (GTA), snakes suck, i keep
getting bitten, misfires and shit are cool, and talkin to peeps works well.
missions are nice and varied, like killin and stealin (is sided with the
bandits at the mo), just need to gel explorin some more!!

Initial impressions:

After all Bishop's negative comments i was expecting the worst but it wasn't
that bad!

But it needs work.

AI as mentioned isn't good, they can't drive that's for sure! wink

However i did attempt to shoot a rat which caused everyone in the area to start
running and several people started shooting at me! which i wasn't expecting.

Driving cars feels wrong, either that or i just suck.

I got drunk on a bottle of tequila - wierd colours appear on screen and you sway
left to right... you really lose control, it's a cool effect.

I accidently fell of a roof (up here is not a good place to be drunk! smile )
injuring my legs causing slower movement and limping.

Then i had a helicopter after me due to my earlier rampage so i snuck into the
jungle, here i came across a what looked like a BBQ but on closer expectation
the meat was described as "Body Part" so i didn't hang around there for too
long. It was night time and raining - i sneazed. Helicopter still after me but
eventually i escaped only to attempt to cross a river and get killed by pirahna's!

The good news it that there is a good game here it just needs some work.

If AI, car handling and most of the bugs get sorted it should be great.

Anyway, i need to go and play properly now! wink

Ich denke auch, wer nur einen reinen Shooter erwartet der wird wohl enttäuscht werden. Was das Handling der Fahrzeuge betrifft, das wird wohl wie bei vielen Spielen Geschmacksache sein, dem einen wirds gefallen, dem anderen nicht.
Zur KI: Selbst wenn sie nur durchschnittlich sein sollte, wenn das Spiel die versprochenen Sachen wie spielerischen Freiheiten enthält, dann kann ich das durchaus verschmerzen.
Man sollte ein Spiel sowieso nicht wegen ein paar Negativpunkten schlecht reden, es zählt ja immer noch der Gesamteindruck. Meinungen sind auch schön und gut, aber ich mache mir gerne immer selbst einen eigenen Eindruck von einem Spiel, deswegen werd ich's mir auch holen
