The Cooling Event 8,200 Years Ago
The climate change scenario outlined in this report is modeled on a century-long climate event that records from an ice core in Greenland indicate occurred 8,200 years ago. Immediately following an extended period of warming, much like the phase we appear to be in today, there was a sudden cooling . Average annual temperatures in Greenland dropped by roughly 5 degrees Fahrenheit, and temperature decreases nearly this large are likely to have occurred throughout the North Atlantic region. During the 8,200 event severe winters in Europe and some other areas caused glaciers to advance, rivers to freeze, and agricultural lands to be less productive. Scientific evidence suggests that this event was associated with, and perhaps caused by, a collapse of the oceans conveyor following a period of gradual warming.
Longer ice core and oceanic records suggest that there may have been as many as eight rapid cooling episodes in the past 730,000 years, and sharp reductions in the ocean conveyer--a phenomenon that may well be on the horizon -- are a likely suspect in causing such shifts in climate.

Geschichtliche Parallelen:
When Life Almost Disappeared-The Permian Extinction
251 million years ago, at the end of the Permian Era, life almost entirely vanished from this planet. It is the single worst mass extinction in the history of the Earth. Fully 95% of the species extant on this planet at that time were wiped out. Only a few species of plants, animals, and likely even protozoa, survived to evolve (until the next major extinction-ecologically trivial by comparison-wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago).
The cause of the horrendous Permian extinction has long been a mystery, and geologists have suggested a number of possibilities, none of which quite explains the evidence. But in the last fifteen years or so, a compelling picture has emerged. Developed in response to a wealth of new paleogeological evidence from that period-evidence from petrology, geochemistry, oceanography, paleoclimatology and various other disciplines-the scenario is quickly being accepted by the scientific community. The culprit that wiped out 95% of all species and very nearly put an end to life on this planet was runaway global warming.
Genug der globalen Erwahrmung, gucken wir uns doch mal die Gefahren des endes der Fossilen Brennstoffe an:
The world is currently producing about 85 million barrels per day (mb/d).
As long as the world’s economy continues to grow, it will need another 1-2 mb/d each year.
Production from the fields that are currently producing our 85 mb/d is continuously dropping. The optimists say this depletion is as little as 2.5 percent each year, while credible pessimists are saying 8 percent a year may be more realistic.

News analysis: Winter fuel crisis GB
You may have to, if the very worst predictions come true. The Meteorological Office warns that we may be about to experience the severest winter for more than a decade, and it has put the emergency services on amber alert (red comes only with the snowdrifts). Worse, Britain is approaching this big freeze with fuel reserves far lower than most countries in Europe. We are facing an energy crisis that could see factories and offices having to shut down for all but three days a week, says Sir Digby Jones, head of the Confederation of British Industry.
--------------------------
If the super-cold weather continues for more than a couple of days, then demand for energy will soar. Britain only has enough gas to last 11 days at full pelt (the European average is 55 days). We can't just switch off all the gas cookers and go electric, because the power stations that produce Britain's electricity get 40 per cent of their energy from gas. That was not a problem when North Sea gas was cheap and plentiful, but now it is starting to run out.

Länder wie China zb fangen an massiv Recourcen aufzukaufen und zu horten:
China is already buying and hoarding 60% of the world's commodities: (Oil, Cement, Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Steel, Coal, Gold, Silver, etc.). It has bought so much cement that it has caused a slowdown in US construction. Last year it bought 90% of the world's steel output and shipped it to China - Multiple sources. Why? Because soon there won't be enough fuel for the globalized transport of such heavy things, nor, presumably, for their industrial exploitation. The world may also be at war shortly, further endangering international trade and transport.
Die Welt ist gerade dabei sich zu destabilisieren, es geht um die letzten Recourcen. ...zur not auf mit militärischen Miteln:
#China has announced a 12.6% increase in its defense budget for next year, pushing it into an overt arms race with the US. - Reuters, March 4, 2005. This has put the enduring China-Taiwan flash point back on the front burner as China has warned Taiwan against secession and the US, Japan and Taiwan have countered with equally risky rhetoric against China. Taiwan is crucial because of its location the South China Sea and proximity to smaller but accessible oil deposits in the Spratly Islands. Even more, should China incorporate Taiwan into its borders, its claims to territorial waters as far as the continental shelf would effectively deny Japan any future exploration off its western coast. - Multiple sources. Japan, which has no energy resources, is in deep trouble.
