'The adventures of Robin Hood' is a movie made in 1938 with Errol Flynn as Robin Hood. The movie was to be shown on TV somewhere in the 70's and I, being around 14, was looking very much forward to it, but my father noticed that the movie was classified 16+-only so he sent me to my room to go to sleep, but looked at it himself and it didn't take 10 minutes to recognize his mistake and he called me back to see the rest of the movie.
Currently parents would let babies see the movie. How can this be? Did children get less sensitive? Or did the parents or censors get less sensitive over time? I think most of the sensitivity is a problem of the parents/censors/politicians. As in the case of the 1938-movie in a couple of decades we will all laugh about the current sensibilities and wonder how adults could ever have been so stupid by not learning from the past.
But you will make similar mistakes when you will be parents...
